Restorative yoga often gets overlooked by many, myself included. But over the past year, I’ve gained a newfound appreciation for this practice as a teacher and student. I've come to know it as my biological reset. I am learning to savor longer holds and breathwork (pranayama) practices that stimulate my vagus nerve, signaling to my nervous system, “Hey girl, we're safe; we're ok.” Over time, these micro- moments of regulation add up and are helping me rewire how I respond to stress, not just in class but in real life.
Believe me, I'm still figuring it out like everyone else. But what I keep coming back to is this: I can't control life's chaos or its endless demands, but I can practice how I show up to them. That's what I'm doing on the mat—growing my capacity, bit by bit. Not just to move through the demands of my current reality, but with the hopes of co-creating a more loving and liberated reality for myself and others. For me, this is a devotional practice of hope and homecoming, a return to the fullness of who I am.
If life feels heavy or loud, this practice is for you. It's my practice of hope, and I warmly invite you to join me.
Come get grounded with me tonight. 🤍
